• Four leading India-born CEOs have been named in Fortune’s Businessperson of the Year list that is topped by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Notably Microsoft’s SatyaNadella ranked 5th among 50 global corporate heads.

• Sachin Tendulkar’s autobiography “Playing it my Way” has won the Crossword Book of the Year Award (Autobiography category). The book is penned by renowned cricket historian and Tendulkar’s close friend BoriaMajumdar.

• The sixth Esquire Man at His Best Awards 2016 was held on November 29, 2016 in Dubai.
The Award comprised of 19 awards. Some of the major awards are:

• International Woman of the Year Award: Actress DeepikaPadukone
• International Man of the Year: Bollywood’s Ranveer Singh
• Humanitarian of the Year: Omar Samra
• Athlete of the Year: Qatari high-jumper MutazBarshim,
• Esquire’s Man of the Year: founder of the Mara Group, Ashish J Thakkar.
• As per the report of Forbes, the co-founder brothers of Stripe Inc., Patrick Collison and John Collison, are officially the world’s youngest self-made billionaires after a fresh funding round nearly doubled their San Francisco-based company’s valuation to US $9.2 billion.

• President Barack Obama awarded the United States highest civilian award ‘Presidential Medal of Freedom’ to 21 outstanding actors, musicians, athletes and innovators who inspired him over the years on November 22, 2016 in the White House East Room.
• The famous Bollywood Actor Sunny Leone and 4 other Indian women have been named in the BBC’s list of 100 most influential women 2016.
• Malini Subramaniam, an Indian journalist has been conferred with the International Press Freedom Award by the Committee to Protect Journalists(CPJ) for her reporting from the Naxal-hit Bastar area, in Chhattisgarh.
• Australia’s former women’s captain Karen Rolton has been inducted into the ICC’s Hall of Fame on November 24, 2016 at a ceremony during the dinner break on the opening day of the third day/night Test between Australia and South Africa.
• Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee on November 24, 2016 won the Best Performance Award by an Actor at the 10th Asia Pacific Screen Awards, held in Brisbane.Manoj was awarded for his role as Professor Siras in “Aligarh”, directed by Hansal Mehta, a powerful and personal drama based on true events. Besides, Nawazuddin Siddiqui also received a Special Mention in the Best Performance category for his role in Anurag Kashyap’s “Raman Raghav 2.0”.
• M C Mary Kom, a celebrated Indian boxer, will be honored with the ‘Legends Award’ from the International Boxing Association (AIBA) on its 70th anniversary ceremony which is to be held in Switzerland on December 20, 2016.
• Eminent Journalist and Author Sebastian Mallaby has won the Financial Times & McKinsey Business Book of the Year 2016 for his ‘The Man Who Knew: The Life and Times of Alan Greenspan’ on November 22, 2016 at a ceremony in London.
• Bangladesh will honour 1,668 members of the Indian Army, who were martyred during the Bangladesh Liberation War. Each family will receive a Rs. 5 lakh as a mark of respect from the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina who will be in Delhi between 18-20 December to give away the money, in Indian currency, to the martyrs’ family members.
